Sophie and I have a meeting on Monday morning in amsterdam so we decided to meet saturday morning and spend the weekend here — she came from dubai and I flew up from Nice (france) a quick 90 minute flight for the weekend.
In my opinion, Amsterdam is a gorgeous city – at least most of it are gorgeous … not to mention the Dutch have to be some of the most friendly people in the world. There is a big “bike” culture here …. and instead of large car parks like you see in most major cities in the world, there are bikes every where.
today at lunch Sophie and I were sitting at an outside cafe along one of the many canals discussing the up coming US election (the cafe had a big Obama for president sign in the window). For the american readers — it is worth pointing out how much everyone outside of america wants Obama to win. Every country in europe — every major newspaper in europe — is supporting Obama. In fact, I researched for this blog – but I could not come across a single country where a majority of the people are for McCain.
I do not want to get too political in this blog … but to remind my american readers, the President of America makes decisions which do not just impact Americans, but also impact the world —and it is worth pointing out the world wide attention and support for Obama in this years election.
Up until about 7 years ago, before Bush and the religious right kidnapped and then destroyed the Republican party, I considered myself Republican… however, America, the world needs a change; therefore, I am supporting/hoping/praying….Obama wins.
