woke at 4:00 (slept ok, went to bed around 9pm)
breakfast:  large oatmeal, three pieces of toast, strong coffee and gatorade
BIKE:  5 hour ride  (154 km)
RUN:  45 minute immediately after the run
comments:  I woke early, but I layed around reading the news on the net until 5:30.  I thought I had a 2 hour ride scheduled, but right before I turned off my computer to leave, I re checked my schedule and noticed I had a 5 hour ride a 45 minute run scheduled. I regreted starting so late.   I drive 20 – 30 minutes into the desert to train.  By the time I started training it was 6:30am so by the time i would finish it would be mid day with the sun perfectly hot.
My ride was good and for the most part went by smoothly, however, last hour I stopped by my car to get another 1.5 liter of water because I had drunk all my water bottles and was dead thirsty.  I had a 2 minute transition between my bike and my run, but when I started off on my run I had no more water left, thus was extremely dehydrated.  I ran 10 – 15 minutes before I stopped.  My legs felt terrible and I had no energy.  I could not stand being in the heat any longer so I turned around and walked back to my car.  When I got home, I drank liters of water and some fruit.  Later we went to the beach with giovanna and sophie …. i swam a little bit to cool my legs down.
dinner:  lamb kabab, chicken.   I ate more than usual.  dead tired.  tomorrow is another brick training and I am a bit scared of the pain and the heat.

today was the first time since i started training for the ironman where I seriously questioned myself, will I be able to finish???

total training today: about 6 hours
