too many eagles act like chickens…

I am working in Monaco this week.

Last night, I met a close French friend of mine at “Bar Americain” at the Hotel de Paris.

Over a couple glasses of champagne, we discussed that idea I keep hammering:   “….but, I have to make it happen.”

My friend told me since he was a child, he dreamed of taking a couple years off to back pack around the world.

According to him, esp. when he was finishing high school, he dreamed all the time about traveling the world.

But everyone he told this dream, told him it was too dangerous; and he needed to get over it because it was “just” a dream.

After a couple glasses of champagne, Yann became passionate…

He talked in great detail about how the world is full of people threatened  by those who try to make their aspirations and dreams happen.

Then he told me about a story that I have never heard before …

The story of a baby eagle who fell from his nest high up on a cliff, and landed on the ground … next to a group of baby chickens.

Upon hitting the ground, the baby eagle struggled to stand, and cried.
But, the mother chicken ran over to him and immediately, took the baby eagle under her wing.

For the next many years, the baby eagle grew up with a bunch of baby chickens and learned how to be a chicken.

And then one day, he was at school and saw an eagle soar high in the sky …
as he and all his friends watched the beauty and power flying above them in the sky, he told everyone, ‘one day I will soar like an eagle.’

But everyone laughed and told him:  ‘it’s not possible because chickens can’t fly …’
