Where is John Galt?

Most people who read my blog have no idea who John Galt is, and or why I have “searching for John Galt…” proclaimed at the top of my blog home page.

John Galt is more than just a character from my second favorite book, “Atlas Shrugged” (“The Fountainhead” being my favorite) – to me, he represents the ideals of commitment, dedication, focus, and probably the most important — honorable achievement.

…If you are going to do something, do it to the best of your ability with honor.

But we live during a period of time where the concept of honor has been diluted by the pressures of selfishness and conformity.

We are bombarded so often by experiences and stories of people who lie, cheat and steal from their bosses, companies, clients, friends, neighbors, spouses and even their own families that it’s come to a point where we just accept it, and laugh it off.

The media is focused on Trump’s awful/disgraceful comments and repugnant behavior towards women, but we can’t forget that Mrs. Clinton is a proven political animal and someone who has repeatedly lied when she needed …

What have we become when we live in a world where the two candidates running for President of the most powerful country in the world are both proven, multiple times, to be dishonorable people?

Where is John Galt?

Whether you are American or not, I challenge everyone to reflect on that ideal of “honorable behavior …” and how much it is linked to “honorable achievement.”

Achievement means nothing if one has to be dishonorable to achieve it.

Note:  Today’s blog is just a quick ramble on the current dishonorable world we live in today, and not specifically focused on the US election mess.

I am disgusted by both candidates, but I am even more disgusted with the state of affairs consuming the world.
