Woke at 4:15 (slept very well, but probably went to sleep too late 21:30)
Breakfast: strong coffee and 3 small pieces of whole wheat toast
Bike: One reason I got up so easily today was because today I had a long ride scheduled and I would get to try my new bike (cervelo P3)
I left the house at 5am and arrived to the bottom of the hill, where my flat ride begins, along the sea by 5:15. 30 minutes into the ride, right at the Italian border, both my gear shifters stopped working and my gears were both in the hardest gear, impossible to climb hills in this gear.
I stopped to try and fix it, but it did not work. Thus, I turned around and rode the flat part towards home trying to figure out how i would get up the long, big hill to my house.
In the end, I walked my brand new, expensive, but broken bike up the long hill in my socks. oddly, the walk went by fast and I am back home.
I was thinking on my ride the other day how i have never had any problems with my bike, no flat tires, no chain breaking, etc. Today I got to experience what its like when the bike breaks down a long way from home.
lunch: small portion of sushi and rice. big bowl of blue berries and a fig cookie
swam easy 40 mins in the sea
dinner: ghoat cheese salad with small portion of prochuito ham and bowl of black berries
today workout wasnt very good because I did not get my full bike ride because the gear problems.
total training: 90 minutes at the most
