Will your leader stand next to you in a fight?

I recently, recruited Adam Fletcher back to naseba in a senior management position with the company based in Monaco.

From 1998 – 2003, Adam worked for me in Hong Kong, Shanghai, Nice, Barcelona, London, and Monaco.

He played a key role in launching naseba.
I will go as far as to say:  without Adam Fletcher, naseba does not exist today.

Adam left naseba in 2003.

For the past several years, Adam has been the Group Sales Director for a UK lighting company where in 4 years he expanded sales from 1 million british pounds p/year, to 9 million BP p/year.

Since 2007,  at least once a year, I have tried to recruit Adam back to the company.

Finally – I am very excited to have Adam back on my team.

Adam is one of the best closers who ever worked for me – but more importantly, he proved over and over to be the type of person who would do anything and everything possible to ensure he and his team won.

Even if he has been out of our game since 2003, he has already proven to add tremendous value to the company.

…………………………………………………

It is well known that I encourage my HR as well as General Managers to try and recruit people who they would want to stand next to them in a fist fight.

I have often asked my HR manager —  “would you want this person to stand next to you in a fight?”

(of course) The proverbial “fight” I refer to, is not an actual fist fight …

When times get tough, will your teammate be there to fight with you?

Or

Will they run away, hide and or quit?

For me, its even more important when it comes to leadership.

Do you trust your leader will stand up and fight with you to ensure you succeed?

Or is your boss a total pussy?

(please note: I am not talking about the boss standing up to senior management in your company to try and get more for the team from the company – but instead doing everything possible to ensure success)

to be continued…
