Bike: 7:17
transition: about 15 minutes
Run: 1:40
Comments:
I rode the first 90km alone. I had the fastest 50km split by more than 3 minutes (I guess the wind was at my back)
Around the 90th km, I arrived and Mario was waiting on his bike for me outside his gym.
He rode with me the rest of the day.
Our ride together began with Mario looking back at me with a big grin (I knew this meant we were going to do steep climbs)
Immediately, we started to climb … and climb and climb. We would get to the top, go down a bit … I would think it was over, and it would begin again…
This lasted for what seemed like 3 hours, but when I looked at my watch, I was dissapointed once again to see we had only been riding together for about an hour.
More climbs came and went … finally things seemed to flatten out …
I had a great ride (very easy), but a fast ride before I met up with Mario, and then struggled my way to the top of each climb – but it was a great 7+ hour ride.
We had a longer than normal transition between the bike and thre run (about 15-20 minutes) …
I noticed my legs seemed stiffer than usual … maybe because of the longer transition?
Mario said we ran about 18km … he kicked my ass today, and surely would have beat me by 20+ minutes if we were racing.
He kept running back to me so not to get too far ahead.
Not as smooth as my 3hr run last night, but a good 100 minute run after a long bike.
I havent checked my plan for tomorrow so I am not sure what it is …
