woke at 4:oo am (slept well)
5:15 – 6:00 drove to Nice and started my swim in the dark from Castel Plage
SWAM: 9 hour and 13 minute nearly non stop
Comments: The longest non stop swim of my life, but it went by fast.
I was scheduled to do 8 hours, but the course I swam lasted a bit longer.
I did not get stung by any jelly fish. The swim started off flat and dark, but when it was very rough when I finished — and I didnt feel sea sick at all. I had great feel for the water.
I took 6 gu gels, one powerbar, a casset of 10 advil (200 mg tablets) and put everything into a zip lock bag and carried it in my swim suit.
My first loop finished nearly 4 hours and 45 minutes so I stopped at my bag for 90 seconds (i timed it to ensure i didnt take longer than 90 seconds) and i drank about 1 liter of evian water. The food items i carried on me, i ate every 30-45 minutes.
I am very happy with this swim. I feel much better in the water than I did last weekend in Austria — i think its because I ate a lot this week so had the energy.
Physically, I will be ready — we shall see how my body reacts to the cold water in the English channel.
