Woke at 5:00 (slept ok)
breakfast: 4 pieces of cereal bread toast, special K and strong coffee
BIKE: 4:53 (127km)
Lunch: carpaccio and tomato mozzerela
dinner: salmon with lintels and several glasses of red wine, bowl of strawberries
Comments: the first 60 minutes of the bike ride my heart rate was 105 – 110 (seems very low) and my legs had no energy to go fast. I really wanted to stop and go home, but I kept pluggin away. when i hit the hill portion of the ride, my heart rate went up to 150 -160 and I felt better, but still no energy in my legs.
I drove the day before with a friend from Zurich to Nice so sitting in the car all day made my legs lifeless.
I had a difficult time riding in the TT position and probably rode less than 25% of the time in the TT position, around 4 hours my neck and shoulders hurt. I averaged a slow 25.6 km/h
I noticed I wasnt as tired after the ride as I normally am, and I spent the day sight seeing with a friend of mine who is in Monaco for the weekend. I ate ok, but drank too much wine.
Total training today: about 5 hours
