the secret to becoming the ultimate thought leader…
This is repost from 6 weeks ago
………………………………………………………………………………
With the risk of coming across boastful….
Yesterday, I was contacted by a leading business media in North America to write an article for them discussing my ideas on what is the best way to become a “thought leader.”
This was in reference to a Harvard Business Review article on “how to become a thought leader in six steps.”
Firstly, I state unequivocally, I am not a “thought leader.”
I don’t pretend to be a “thought leader.”
I am from the old school where there was no such thing as self promoting “thought leaders.”
The world we live in today has become so focused on self promotion, all at the same time craving acceptance from others that selfishness dominates …. pollutes our thought process.
A true “thought leader” does not need to intentionally, market and hustle his/her “thoughts….”
Like a great leader doesn’t need to command people to follow…
Is “leadership” something which can be taught?
Let’s be honest….
Can someone sitting behind a computer in a cushy office at Harvard teach leadership??
No disrespect.
No matter how great of a leader the person might be or have been ….can the secrets to their success as a leader be summed up on a blog or in a book?
…Is “thought leadership” something so simple it can be taught in 6 clear steps on a blog?
In reality …
What works “leading” an American employee does not necessarily work “leading” an employee in China, India, Japan, not to mention, “leading” a woman employee in Saudi Arabia…
Moreover, it can be argued that the abundance of media has created an overflow of information.
We are hammered daily by worthless content trying to sell us short cuts ….
“The secret to becoming the ultimate thought leader in just 6 simple steps…”
In my humble opinion — there are no manuals which one can buy that outline the secrets of how to lead to people….whether leading them in action or in thought.
I’m just searching for John Galt…

To your consternation, I am writing this….LEADERSHIP CAN BE TAUGHT…… I have always avoided taking responsibility…. I was scared of being popular among my friends… I dont think that’s was wise from my side….then there was no one to take care of such confusions…..But always my friends confessed at some point that they were drawn to me in one or other way…I swear I have never done anything to attract people to me…. But you must have seen me, when I was undergoing my 5 days selection process for Indian Army…. I was a veteran in Group discussion, where i made a story out of a blank tv screen…. I was a natural in my physicals to the extent that the Interviewboard thought I had undergone extensive physical training at someplace…. but then they throw me out when i got emotional to one of their questions….. that made my exit…. Even the boys from other states, who were not allowed to join us for the tests, but who have witnessed all we are doing, told me later, when all of us met at railwaystation, that I was the only one, they thought, who will definitely make it….. But the Indian Army can not afford emotional people….
But leadership can be taught….. I led my activities in the Selection camp through examples, though nobody told me to do like that….. being emotional was my only achilles bone….. a tragic flaw….

LEADERSHIP CAN BE TAUGHT…You can tell the leadership-quality-less people that if you want to make use of your life, you have to plan your moves this way, that way…. I tutored some…. one example is my friend who became airhostess…who was a crybody at each and every opportunities she gets…then there is another who came out of her misery, because she thought she should please all, take no actions, now she is a maketing manager in travel field in uae…. I have been lucky to induce courage in some peoples lives….because I felt that they should be out of their miserable life….I have invented so many ways to master situations… ofcourse, everyone can not do that…. if you think, you want to be a leader, you will find examples and you will live your examples….
The theory behind teaching of leadership lies in undersanding of human nature…there are weak…there are bullies…. you can master the ways to tame a person, situations….its so simple….understanding (not in a caring way) is the key… find the flaws of a person or persons, use the opposite element required (it comes all autoamatically), conquer them…if the person is powerful, use the unexpected, be polite to an adversary…. he can not help but be same to you…. i have revealed some of my secrets…pls dont put it online….. i intenet to get a patent & copyright for these….. ha hah ah….. you must not think i am bonkers… i have tried this so many times…. leadership does not always mean, you lead a war, own a company…. eg: a thin mahhot, leading an elephant…. is he rich? is he a businessman? he is best in taming a dangerous animal, he bend it to his whims…. then, he is also a leader with his courage…not fearing death…. a small thing can lead to so many big things….
